FACILITY CONDITION ASSESSMENTS

As part of the Long-Range Building Program, SB 43 of the 65th legislature directed the Department of Administration to compile and maintain a statewide facility inventory and condition assessment for LRBP-eligible buildings. FCAs are only required on LRBP-eligible buildings with a current replacement value greater than $150,000.

What is a Facility Condition Assessment?

A Facility Condition Assessment is a process that analyzes the physical condition and functionality of a facility and its equipment.

Why is a Facility Condition Assessment important?
  • To help optimize and maintain the physical condition of assets, prioritize resources, and develop capital budgets.
  • To support an agency’s Long-Range Building Program requests to restore, replace, and maintain defective assets.
  • To help prioritize projects that increase the efficiency of your facility’s operation and reduce the risk of downtime.
  • To prioritize the items for maintenance and renewal based on accurate data rather than guesswork. Whether it’s repairing your HVAC system or replacing carpet, it helps agencies determine which assets are critical and those that can come further down the priorities list.
